On Saturday, January 21, the world of science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) will come to life to open the 2023 Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale Auction. Before some of the world’s most sought-after collector cars start rolling across the block, auction guests will get a glimpse into the future at STEM Fest, featuring selected Arizona students’ submissions for the “Gearing Towards The Future” initiative and other interactive activities from STEM-focused organizations.

STEM Fest will spotlight all the Gearing Towards The Future winners and their projects. The initiative, created in conjecture with SciTech Institute, presented four separate learning challenges depending on age group, all geared around automotive technology and innovation. Students across Arizona were asked to design various future solutions, such as electric vehicle charging infrastructures, electric vehicle components and features, transportation options and vehicles of the future.

Along with students’ projects, STEM Fest will also have representatives from companies and organizations focused on STEM initiatives present at the event with displays and other information. One such company is Blue Origin, which will be displaying a capsule from one of its rockets at this event.

STEM Fest will take place on Saturday, January 21, in the South Showcase. It will begin when the gates open at 8 a.m. and last until right before the parade of Barrett-Jackson Cup cars crosses the auction block at the end of the day. Bring your whole family ‒ children 12 years old and under are free on Family Day ‒ and experience the future with Barrett-Jackson.
