Featured on AutoHunter, the online auction platform driven by ClassicCars.com, is this restored 1954 Chevrolet Bel Air convertible powered by an 4.8-liter LS V8 engine backed by a 4L60-E four-speed automatic. Modern conveniences include power disc brakes, power heated front seats, climate control system including air conditioning, power windows and locks, and cruise control. Finished in burgundy over a tan leather interior, this Bel Air comes from the selling dealer with copies of the magazines in which it was featured and Province of Nova Scotia vehicle registration.
During the restoration, the exterior was refinished in burgundy. Features include shaved hood and trunk trim, rocker panel trim, dual side mirrors, tan convertible top with plastic backlite, and rear fender skirts.
A set of maroon steel wheels with rare factory wire wheel covers are wrapped in whitewall radial tires.
The Lexus heated, power-adjustable front bucket seats and the rear seat are upholstered in tan South American leather. Features include keyless entry with push-button start, center console with cup holders, electric parking brake, automatic headlights, tilt steering column and Dakota Digital climate control center. The cruise control, power window, windshield wiper and air suspension switches are hidden in the center console. The trunk is fully upholstered and matches the interior.
A Classic Instruments cluster includes a 140-mph speedometer and gauges for the fuel level, oil pressure, voltage and coolant temperature. The odometer reads 48,223 miles, but the true mileage on this vehicle is unknown.
Power comes from a 4.8-liter LS V8 and shifting comes from a 4L60-E four-speed automatic transmission. Underhood features include a smoothed body-color firewall, custom engine cover, aluminum radiator and fresh air intake with cone filter, and braided lines.
The original chassis was modified with independent front suspension from a Mustang II, four-link Chevrolet Blazer solid axle with 3.42 gears, and adjustable four-corner air suspension. Braking is provided by power discs.
As part of the sale, the selling dealer will include copies of Canadian Hot Rods and Chevy Classics magazines in which this car was featured.
