SPIED: Audi Q6 e-tron Seen Testing — Looks Like a Big Audi Q4 e-tron

Earlier this year, Audi announced two new PPE (Premium Platform Electric)-based EVs were in the works; the Audi A6 e-tron and the Q6 e-tron. Both would be built on the same new PPE electric architecture, which will be shared by upcoming Porsche models as well, and both will debut in sometime in 2022. The Q6 e-tron, which will be a sporty looking SUV, was just recently caught testing, wearing camouflage. (We don’t own the spy photos but you can see them here)

While the car in these photos is wrapped entirely in black and white swirly camouflage, to disguise its true shape, there are a few details we can make out. For instance, up front, it looks a bit like the Volkswagen ID.4, which isn’t exactly comforting to see, but it will probably have its own look, once we can see it sans camo.

Its profile is similar to the Audi Q4 e-tron (pictured above), which is to be expected, only a bit larger. This Q6 e-tron still looks a bit smaller than the first e-tron SUV, though it will likely have better interior space, due to its all-electric architecture, compared to the standard e-tron’s modified MLB architecture. While camo obscures most of its design, you can tell that it has some nicely flared rear wheel arches, short overhangs, and a nice stance.

Out back, its taillights look a bit different from most other Audi e-tron models, though they could be covered in some fakery, as they seem to just be two little lights, rather than the slick OLED units used in other e-tron models.

No official specs have been released but the Audi Q6 e-tron is rumored to have dual electric motors, making 469 horsepower and 590 lb-ft of torque. We’re going to assume a battery pack of around 100 kWh and somewhere between 300-350 miles of range.

Overall, the Audi Q6 e-tron is likely going to be an interesting new SUV. The Audi e-tron was a good starting point but it was sorely lacking in range and performance, compared to its rivals from Tesla. However, a Q6 e-tron with the aforementioned specs would be quite the hit among customers.
