The worlds of skateboards and motorized vehicles come together again June 4 when London-based Palace Skateboards and Mercedes-AMG send the No. 6 Mercedes-AMG GT3 racing car into the 24-hour race at the Nurburgring.
United by “an unconventional attitude to life” and their respective wheeled product lines with their “performance and speed; adrenaline and coolness,” Mercedes-AMG and Palace Skateboards are launching the Capsule Collection of apparel and accessories.
Representing the project is the Palace-liveried racing car.
“The partnership with Palace underlines the transformation of our Mercedes-AMG brand towards more lifestyle,” Mercedes-AMG chairman Philipp Schiemer is quoted in the announcement. “We are opening up to new target groups and sending out strong signals with spectacular and surprising campaigns that further sharpen the brand orientation of Mercedes-AMG.”
Iconography for the joint venture, the car and clothing, including jacket, trousers, sweatshirts, hoodies, polo and T-shirts, feature a white saber-toothed tiger with orange and violet colors as well as black and white shades designed to “evoke the sunsets of the Indian savannah and the fur of the tiger.”
The partners have produced a “hero video” featuring the racing car as well as Palace skaters.
The partners said the clothing will be available in Palace stores and online to US customers beginning June 4 at 8 a.m. (Pacific).
