SPIED: Audi RS3 Sportback and RS3 Sedan Seen Testing Together

With all of the EV news coming from Audi in recent months, we’ve sort of forgotten about the Audi RS3. Despite our forgetting, the RS3 is actually one of the more exciting car on Audi’s horizon, thanks to its new chassis and technology. In these new spy photos, we get to see the Audi RS3 Sportback and Sedan seen testing in camouflage together. (We don’t own the spy photos but you can see them here)

The cars in these photos both wear heavy camouflage, so there aren’t a ton of details we can make out. Though, neither car is going to look drastically different from the less powerful S3 versions. Considering that and the few bits of design we can see through the camo, we likely have a good idea of what it’s going to look like.

Audi S3 Sportback for Reference

Up front, the headlights look essentially the same as they do on the S3. Even its massive Singleframe grille looks the same as the S3’s. While its front air intakes look like they might be more aggressive on the RS3, the camo on the test mule cover them.

Out back, the taillights also look the same as those from the S3. The only real difference on the back end of the RS3 is the fact that it sports dual exhausts, rather than quad exhausts, as all Audi Sport models do.

Though, we’re hoping that the Audi RS3 gets the same wheels as seen in these photos. These look great and better than what we’ve seen on other A3/S3 models.

When the Audi RS3 makes its debut, it will be powered yet again by the brand’s 2.5 liter turbocharged five-cylinder engine. It’s said to make 420 PS (414 horsepower) and around 500 Nm (369 lb-ft) of torque. There also could be a higher performance model, with around 450 PS (444 horsepower). We’re really hoping that’s true.
