Two-hundred cars and trucks, and a vast collection of Road Art, from Rick Treworgy’s famed Muscle Car City in Punta Gorda, Florida, will be offered entirely at no reserve by Mecum Auctions on-site at the museum collection on January 22 and 23.

“Rick Treworgy’s outstanding Muscle Car City exhibit of 200 cars stands as one of the largest GM muscle car and Corvette collections in the country and represents more than 80 years of American automotive history,” Mecum says in a news release.

“Mr. Treworgy spent decades personally collecting and curating the cars and Road Art within, and after 14 years of sharing his collection with the public in Punta Gorda, he’s decided to retire and is ready now to share the vast majority of his treasure with fellow collectors.”

The collection, currently open to the public as a private museum and a well-known attraction in the area, is located about 2-and-a-half hours south of Kissimmee, Florida, where Mecum recently wrapped up its huge annual auction.  The company is calling the Muscle Car City sale a “full-scale extension” of the Kissimmee auction.

The live auction will be open to bidders only because of coronavirus concerns, with all Kissimmee bidders automatically registered by the Punta Gorda sale.  Online and phone bidding also will be available. An auction preview day will be held January 21.

Among the featured lots are a 1969 Chevrolet COPO Camaro coupe, a 1965 Chevelle Z16 396 4-speed, 1969 Pontiac GTO Judge 4-speed, 1962 Chevrolet Bel Air ‘bubble top’ 409 with 4-speed, and a 1970 Oldsmobile 442 W-30.  The collection also includes street rods, pickup trucks, race cars and restored vintage vehicles.
