When I first saw the Audi e-tron Sportback in person, at the LA Auto Show, I was genuinely surprised by the amount of rear passenger and luggage space. Despite its sportier roofline, the e-tron Sportback is surprisingly spacious. However, I haven’t personally been able to test its rear space out, as we haven’t tested one just yet. Thankfully, Autoblog did just that.
In a recent article, Autoblog was able to show off just how much luggage you can fit in the Audi e-tron Sportback and it might surprise you.
Typically, coupe-like SUVs, such as Audi’s Sportback models, seriously lack rear headroom and luggage space. It can swallow up several medium sized roller suitcases and carry-on bags. All with the rear seats still up and with the cargo cover still in place. Though, if you take the cargo cover off, there’s really no place to put it with the trunk filled.
The Audi e-tron Sportback also gets a decent front trunk. It’s not massive by any means but it’s large enough to accommodate the charging cable or even a small carry-on bag.
While the regular Audi e-tron will of course be more practical, thanks to its more traditional SUV body style, the e-tron Sportback is more practical than you might think. So if you want the Sportback mode for it’s extra style, you won’t have to sacrifice much practicality to get it. Which goes to show that Audi seems to know how to make coupe-like SUVs better than its German rivals, which all sacrifice a bit too much luggage and rear seat space to get the added style.
So if you’re in the market for an Audi e-tron and are torn on which one to get, just remember that the Sportback model takes less of a practicality hit than you might think.
