Carlisle Auctions posted $4.4 million in sales with a 63 percent sell-through rate at its Fall Carlisle auction this past weekend at the Carlisle Expo Center in Pennsylvania. And you might be surprised when you read about the high-dollar sale.

Among the top sales were a 1970 Buick GSX, a 1967 Chevrolet Nova SS, a 2012 Bentley Continental Flying S and a 1947 Kaiser street rod pickup truck. But the top-dollar sale of the auction was a 2018 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter van, albeit one that had been customized by Midwest Automotive Design. The big passenger-oriented coach sold for $91,000.

Second on the top-seller list was that 1970 Buick GSX, which brought $80,250 (prices reported include buyer’s fee).

The auction was Carlisle’s first in seven months and was staged as a live sale, but with health and safety guidelines and what Carlisle Auctions termed “a hungry core of bidders and sellers.”

The auction included consignments from the AACA Museum and the Classic Auto Mall.

Carlisle’s next auction is scheduled for February 19-20 in Lakeland, Florida, as part of the Winter AutoFest.
