The gladiators of Ancient Rome might be considered the sport stars of their day, playing to the crowds and winning the favor of emperors. The gladiator’s prowess has become the stuff of legend, and it is no accident that Jeep has captured that fame. While already deeply purpose-built, this aptly named example, soon to cross the Barrett-Jackson block with No Reserve, walks the walk and talks the talk like no other. Just wait until you look under the hood.
Lurking behind Jeep’s trademark seven-slot grille sits the heart of a champion. An 850hp 6.2-liter Demon crate engine, topped with a 2.7-liter supercharger, delivers power to all four wheels via a reinforced 8HP75 8-speed automatic transmission.
This is a Jeep of an entirely different breed. The beefed-up gearbox isn’t alone, as the entirety of the powertrain has been strengthened to cope with the Demon’s prodigious power. The monstrous engine sports a Fore Innovations duel-fuel pump system capable of handling over 1,000 horsepower and is cooled by a massive heavy-duty Griffin radiator. Adding to that sis an air-to-water intercooler system for the supercharger. The Rubicon transfer case connects to an Adams driveshaft, as well as custom-built 1350 front and rear drivelines. Adding to the off-road muscle is a Dynatrac Pro Rock Hardcore Plus XD60 front and rear axle set, 72.5-inch wide-track Eaton E-locker, four differentials and a 5.13 axle ratio. While the original Willys Jeep may have been a bantamweight brawler, this Gladiator is undoubtedly the heavyweight striker.
The Gladiator marked Jeep’s historic return to the pickup truck market after a 27-year absence and was built as the most capable Jeep truck ever. This example is a build upon a build, beginning life as a 2020 Launch Edition Rubicon with a luxuriously trimmed interior full of modern conveniences. Exclusive to the Launch Edition is a special instrument panel and beautiful Rubicon Red stitching prominently featured on the leather seats and steering wheel. For added measure, custom embroidered headrests proudly display the Demon logo.
This fully custom-built 2020 Jeep Gladiator keeps to true to its lineage and certainly won’t need paved roads to get where it’s going. The Jeep stands tall thanks to an EVO 6.5-inch Enforcer Overland Stage-4 suspension and EVO King shock absorbers. The Gladiator can traverse nearly any topography with its giant 40×15.50×20 Toyo MT tires wrapped around 20×10 Fuel Zephyr wheels. Additionally, this Gladiator is outfitted with a King steering stabilizer and heavy-duty Dynatrac steering assembly.
This Gladiator looks the part, too. The black paint is wonderfully accented by the demon-eyed red wheels and red trimmings around the body. In case anyone was wondering, neatly written across both sides of the Jeep’s hood is “POSSESSED,” boldly stating all intentions. To complete the package, this Gladiator sports a JCR bed-mounted spare tire carrier, Rockslide Engineering electric side steps and Mopar stubby steel bumpers with a WARN Zeon 10S winch.
Offered with No Reserve as Lot #760 at the 2020 Barrett-Jackson Fall Auction, this Gladiator will have the crowd roaring its approval as it rolls across the auction block. Don’t miss your chance to be victorious – you will be entertained.
