Collector cars may guide the pulse of the Barrett-Jackson experience, but that’s only part of the story. At its very foundation, the heart and soul if you will, Barrett-Jackson is dedicated to supporting philanthropic and charitable causes. For nearly 50 years our auctions have been predicated on doing our part to aide communities, big and small, members of the armed forces, initiatives in education, medical research and most recently those on the frontlines of the pandemic. To date, Barrett-Jackson has worked with more than 170 organizations nationwide and raised more than $126 million. “It’s a great honor to use our platform to help those in need, and really speaks to the tremendous generosity of both those who donate vehicles to be sold for charity and our incredible customers, who bid from the heart to help others,” said Craig Jackson, Chairman and CEO of Barrett-Jackson.

For 2020, that foundational pillar continues at the 2020 Fall Auction. Three distinct and wonderful vehicles have been donated to help those in need during these challenging times, and, most importantly, every single cent of the winning bid goes to the vehicle donator’s chosen charity.

First up is an icon of popular culture that changed the very nature of automotive filmmaking and much more: the star of Gymkhana Nine, Ken Block’s 2016 Ford Focus RS RX, which will cross the block as Lot #3000 on Thursday, October 22. With over half a billion views spread over 10 films, the Gymkhana series has embedded itself into automotive history. Now, a chance to own a piece of that history has arisen, and it is supportive of a great cause. The sale of the 600hp tire-shredding rally car will benefit Team Rubicon, an organization dedicated to helping veterans and providing relief to those affected by disasters and humanitarian crises. Through continued service, one of Team Rubicon’s many goals is to help veterans transition back to civilian life after serving in the military.

Lot #3001 lives up to its name as the “Ultimate Tailgate Truck.”

The striking livery by renowned Argentinian artist Felipe Pantone marks the first time Ken Block and the Hoonigan Racing Division sought an external partner to create the Focus’ distinctive look. The design is all about unrestrained speed and freneticism, much like the car itself. The M-Sport and Ford Performance-designed turbocharged 2.0-liter inline-4 routes its 600 horses to all four wheels via a Sadev 6-speed sequential gearbox. The result is 0 to 60 in 1.9 seconds over any terrain. Piloted by Ken Block, the Focus and co-star of Gymkhana Nine is ready to cross the block for a noble cause.

The second charity vehicle coming to the Fall Auction might be called “business up front, party in the back.” That’s what this 2019 Ford F-350 Super Duty Dually (Lot #3001, to be sold on Friday, October 23) is all about, and it certainly lives up to its name as the “Ultimate Tailgate Truck.” Designed by engineers from Extang, a Truck Hero company, along with students from the Custom Cars and Concepts program at Washtenaw Community College in Ann Arbor, Michigan, this F-350 was built to redefine the OTT tailgating experience. The 8-foot bed has been converted into the perfect game-day experience that features an integrated 65-inch LG 4K TV, custom Maxxsonics 8-inch speakers, copper-plated swing-out grill, cooler and a custom dining table. The black and copper color scheme runs throughout and the F-350, which features a fully bespoke air suspension, and rides on custom copper-plated Fuel Off-Road Dually Maverick 24-inch wheels. Selling to benefit Building Homes for Heroes, an organization devoted to providing mortgage-free homes for those who have served in the armed forces, “The Ultimate Tailgate Truck” is sure to make its new owner happy on every given Sunday – and any other day it is brought into use.

This C8 (Lot #3002) headed to the auction block for the HeartStrings Foundation rides on 19- and 20-inch 5-trident-spoke wheels wrapped in ultra-sticky Michelin rubber.

The third and final “car for a cause” ready to cross the block is a gorgeous 2020 Chevrolet Corvette, which will be taking its turn in the spotlight on Saturday, October 24, as Lot #3002. The Shadow Gray Metallic paint beautifully contrasts with the red leather interior, and the ‘Vette sports the rare high-wing spoiler option. This C8 rides on 19- and 20-inch 5-trident-spoke wheels wrapped in ultra-sticky Michelin rubber.

The C8 was graciously donated by a longtime Barrett-Jackson customer to raise funds for the Heartstrings Foundation, a group that helps veterans heal through the power of music and provides guitars to both veterans and active service members and their families – as well as music therapy programs, children’s hospitals, first responders, transitional housing for battered women, drug treatment programs and other non-profit organizations around the country – so music can be integrated into the recovery process. Already special with its mid-engine placement, this C8 truly aims for a higher purpose.

The world has had to adapt and overcome new challenges in 2020. The day-to-day has changed but, the bonds and camaraderie we all share has made us grow stronger, not only as automotive enthusiasts but as individuals. Barrett-Jackson is committed to continuing our tradition of delivering incredible automobiles for great causes. Join us.
