In the annals of future collector cars, the Pick of the Day is a near-certain entry, a 2006 BMW M3 coupe with the ZCP Competition Package, most-likely destined for hot desirability among upcoming generations of enthusiasts.

This M3, with just over 35,000 miles on its odometer, has a straight-6 engine rated at 333 horsepower and linked with a 6-speed manual transmission, as it should be.  The BMW appears ready for track-day fun, spirited backroad driving or just looking super cool in your personal collection.

The Valley Stream, New York, dealer advertising the BMW on ClassicCars.com minces no words in describing the special qualities of this significant performance car.

“A beautiful, scintillating and coveted equipped final-year example of one of the most notable, profound and revered performance icons to debut during the start of the new millennium!” the seller crows in the ad.

BMW

“Teamed with a high-revving, 8,000-rpm and glorious-sound emitting inline-six-cylinder engine, purposeful and prominent exterior design aesthetics, such as the front and rear wide fenders, powerdome hood, fender gills, aerodynamically inclined side mirrors and lift-reducing trunk-lid spoiler, and an agile chassis, make for a highly emotive driving experience.

“It’s raw, yet refined, and is frankly the last of the modern mechanicals.”

The seller notes that the added performance equipment dials in the power and performance for what BMW fans crave.   Among the upgrades to the E46 are a tuned steering rack for “more-direct steering experience,” larger cross-drilled disc brakes and an M Track Mode setting for peak performance.

“The tremendously desirable and sought-after Competition Package transforms an already brilliant performer into an even more exceptional one,” the ad says.

The BMW does indeed look stunning in “the illustrious and gleaming shade of Titanium Silver Metallic” with a black-leather interior with “milled-looked aluminum” trim. The M3 stands on a set of 19-inch cross-spoke wheels inspired by those on the acclaimed Europe-only CSL.

This BMW M3 looks to be an awesome car, and the asking price of $52,995 is on par with price guide estimates.  And it should grow even more desirable, and possibly more valuable, as the years pass and new collectors come of age.
