This is a moment we as American Audi enthusiasts have been waiting for. The 2021 Audi RS6 Avant has finally hit our shores for customers to buy, marking the first time such a thing has ever happened. The only other generation of RS6 that was sold in the ‘States was the C5-generation but it only came here as a sedan. This time, we get the proper five-door wagon version, just like every other country.
Some photos have been released by Car and Driver of many new RS6s arriving at the Port of Davisville, Rhode Island. In these photos the RS6s are covered in protective wrapping but all of that will be taken off soon, as these vehicles get prepped and ready for delivery. They’ll be hitting dealerships, ready for purchase, in the next few weeks, which should excite any enthusiasts with the funds to buy one.
Audi is mum on the number of cars currently being delivered but a representative of the brand did claim that it has “many orders”. That’s encouraging to hear, as we want to see the Audi RS6 Avant sell well. Very well. The better it does on the sales sheet, the more likely we’ll not only get another generation of RS6 Avant but that we might also get more fast Avants. We don’t want to put the cart before the horse but imagine also getting an RS4 Avant in the future? I have to stop, I’m getting too excited.
This new Audi RS6 Avant is easily one of the coolest cars Audi has sold in the ‘States in ages. It’s a five-door wagon with killer looks and a 4.0 liter twin-turbocharged V8 making 591 horsepower and 590 lb-ft of torque. Sure, it’s expensive, being priced at just over $110,000, but it’s worth it. The RS6 Avant is everything a car needs to be; it looks great, it’s fast, it handles well, it’s practical and it’s comfortable. What more could you want?
