One of the main reasons why customers buy SUVs is that they can pack them full of people or stuff or pets. We won’t get into the other reasons that SUVs are popular because I’m just going to get annoyed. Instead, we’re going to discuss the aforementioned practicality, mainly for pets. That’s because the 2020 Audi Q5 was just named one of the ten best cars for dog lovers by Auto Trader.
Part of why Auto Trader chose the Audi Q5 as one of the best cars of dog lovers is that it’s just an inherently good place for dogs to sit. Being that all models come with leather seating as-standard, dog hair vacuums up easily and slobber wipes off with no issues. Additionally, any unwanted fluids from sick dogs won’t stain the seats or leave foul smells, like cloth would.
But all premium cars have leather seating now. What makes the Audi Q5 stand out is its large back seat for dogs to lounge in, a comfortable ride so their not bounced around all over and a suite of accessories offered as optional add-ons.
For example, the Audi Q5 is available with a protective rear seat pet cover, that keeps your dog from walking all over the seats with sharp claws and keeps them comfy, as well. There’s also the optional dog harness, which more safely secures the dog in the backseat, without potentially choking them in the event of a crash.
Audi also has a “Road Dog” collection of car accessories, such as Audi-branded collars, pet bowls and bandannas. They’re all a bit cringe-worthy but many dog owners like to go a bit overboard with their pets and these a perfect for such things.
The Audi Q5 is also good for people, as it’s comfortable, spacious, high-tech and practical. It’s not exhilarating to drive but it wouldn’t be one of the best-selling cars in the segment if it weren’t any good.
