ABT Sportsline is at it again. Having given the new RS6 Avant and RS7 Sportback the “R” treatment, the German tuner is about to do the same for Audi’s flagship SUV – the RS Q8. For the time being, we’re only allowed to take a peek at the mean front fascia of a Java Green example with its carbon fiber accents derived from the aforementioned RS models.
The full reveal of the amped-up RS Q8 is scheduled to take place in about a month from now as ABT revealed on Facebook the official premiere will happen in mid-August. This isn’t the first time the tuner will take a crack at modifying Ingolstadt’s speedy SUV as they’ve already extracted an additional 100 horsepower and 80 Newton-meters (59 pound-feet) of torque from the twin-turbo 4.0-liter engine. The available upgrade takes the V8 to 700 hp and 880 Nm (649 lb-ft), but the best is yet to come.

That’s because we’re expecting the RS Q8-R to produce a whopping 740 hp and 920 Nm (679 lb-ft) to mirror the RS6-R and RS7-R considering all three use the same engine. The beefier V8 will likely be complemented by a custom exhaust system with quad tips, a widebody kit, and the aftermarket wheels we’re already noticing.
It’s worth mentioning the RS6-R and RS7-R are both limited-run affairs, with ABT tweaking only 125 cars per body style. It remains to be seen whether it’ll be the same story with the RS Q8 and if the “R” package will cost the same €68,137 as it does for the Avant and Sportback.
It’s safe to say the RS Q8 amplified by ABT will become one of the fastest SUVs in the world and ready to take on the mechanically related Lamborghini Urus. Mid-August can’t come soon enough.
